Things to Do in Dorado This Fall: Public Events in 2026

On PR-694 in barrio Maguayo, at kilometer 5.5, Finca Pastoreo opens its gates on October 2 to a field of more than 50 pumpkin varieties, a hay tower and a corn pool. About a month earlier, a few miles away at Paseo del Plata Shopping Village, a Caguas-born restaurant group opened a full-service teppanyaki room in a complex that already holds a 24-container concert venue.

Put those two places next to the town's October calendar and Dorado's public season comes into focus. It runs along the PR-694 and PR-696 corridor and down to the Río La Plata. Most of the season's best-publicized events, on the other hand, sit behind the resort gate.

The Club Calendar Comes With an Access Policy

The Dorado Beach club calendar is full this fall. The Velvet Note, an evening of jazz with Fleur Seule in the Surf Room, is on October 16 at 7:30 p.m. Jazz Nights at Su Casa is on October 31, and the Great Christmas Caravan, with a golf-cart parade and a Santa meet-and-greet, is set for December 4. The posted rules for the Velvet Note and Su Casa say the same thing: entry is limited to members and resort guests, and guests of members must be accompanied by a member at all times. The Sunset Harvest Fest on October 24 includes a pumpkin patch activity, and the rest of its details are still listed as "coming soon."

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve's own events page at 100 Dorado Beach Drive lists a Double Chicken Please bar takeover on November 13, Botanico Flow sessions on October 22, November 19 and December 26, and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on November 26. A weekly Sunday Market from La Cocina Gourmet runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through December 27. Those listings don't say whether visitors who aren't staying at the hotel can attend, so call the resort before planning a Sunday around the market.

For everyone else, the rest of the season happens off the resort, and most of it is clustered within reach of a single intersection.

Paseo del Plata Became the Evening Address

El Patio Fusion Lounge sits at Paseo del Plata Shopping Village, at Avenida José Efron and PR-696. It opened on November 22, 2023, with a Fisher show. The venue is built from 24 repurposed shipping containers under a truss-and-roof system that can be raised and lowered. Its fall lineup, with starting ticket prices as posted on the venue's site in early October 2026:

  • Gordo, Saturday, October 3, 8 p.m., from $34.99
  • Ziggy Marley, Brightside Tour 2026, Tuesday, October 20, 6:30 p.m., from $75
  • Kaskade, Saturday, October 24, 8 p.m., from $34.99
  • Steel Pulse, Saturday, November 14, 6:30 p.m., from $40

Until September, a show at El Patio meant finding dinner somewhere else first. On September 8, El Nuevo Día reported that Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi had opened in the same shopping village. It is a full-service restaurant built around teppanyaki, cooked on a steel griddle, and El Nuevo Día identified it as the chain's seventh location. The first Ichiban opened in Caguas, and the chain also runs express counters at Shops @ Caguas and Río Hondo. Dorado got the full-service format ahead of a location already under construction in Coamo.

Owner Juan Carlos Cruz, who also owns Restaurante Cazuela in Caguas, financed the Dorado opening in part with a $360,000 term loan from Puerto Rico's Economic Development Bank. About 25 people will work there. Mayor Aníbal José Torres was direct about what the opening meant to the town:

"Dorado necesita más oferta gastronómica y, con la llegada de Ichiban nos sentimos contentos de que un negocio ya probado se establezca aquí." ("Dorado needs more dining options, and we're happy to see a proven business establish itself here with Ichiban's arrival.")

With a teppanyaki grill and a concert stage in the same complex, an October Saturday can start with dinner and end with a show without moving the car.

PR-694 Leads to the Pumpkins

The second public anchor is out past the shopping centers. Calabazas PR Fest's 2026 season at Finca Pastoreo opens October 2. The festival bills itself as an 18-day season, open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. A ticket covers:

  1. The hay tower, the pumpkin patch, the Casa de Calabazas and the corn pool
  2. Painting a pumpkin and taking it home
  3. Swings and children's games
  4. One free popcorn or cotton candy per paid ticket

Pumpkin Spice Soft Serve by Softy, served inside a pumpkin, and roasted corn on the cob are sold separately. Premium tickets include one of each. You pick your date and arrival time when you buy tickets on the festival's site. The site's FAQ lists questions about operating days, prices, rain and dogs. Its readable text doesn't answer them, so check the ticketing page before you load the car.

Driving out there means using the roads now under construction. A $645,320 rehabilitation program between the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTOP) and the municipality began July 16. The first phase is asphalt work in Los Rodríguez, in barrio Espinosa, with PR-694 in Maguayo and several PR-693 segments planned next. R.O. Construction is the contractor, and NotiCel's report gave no finish date. Separately, the roundabout where PR-693 meets PR-694, at PR-693 km 1.65 by the PR-22 exit 24 entrance, was scheduled to begin a 12-phase improvement project on May 12. The work adds turning lanes, lengthens the bypass lane, repaves and installs LED lighting, according to Metro Puerto Rico. No completion date was announced, so plan extra time through that roundabout on festival weekends.

The River Gets a Sunday

The municipality's own October calendar, posted on municipiodedorado.pr, fills in the rest. Sesiones Desde la Loma Fest takes place Saturday, October 3, at the Gran Parque Agroturístico Ecológico y Recreativo El Dorado. That's the same night Gordo plays El Patio.

The biggest public date of the month is the Festival de Campo y Pueblo on Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. The official poster lists Víctor García y la Sonora Sanjuanera, Karas Nuevas, Los Sabrosos del Merengue "El Reencuentro," and Ramón Rodríguez "El Clásico." The poster puts the festival in the Área La Marina on the Río La Plata, with free parking and free shuttles from the Gran Parque Agroturístico. The municipality's monthly calendar appears to list Plaza Pública de Dorado for the same event, so confirm the location with the municipality that week.

The shuttle arrangement explains how the town's two public sites work together. The Gran Parque hosts its own festival on October 3 and serves as the parking lot for the riverside event fifteen days later.

Two Saturdays have overlapping events. On October 3, the Gran Parque festival and the Gordo show share the night. On October 24, Kaskade at El Patio and the resort's Harvest Fest fall on the same date.

The December Gap

The municipality's events page currently shows October material only. No 2026 Christmas lighting or parranda date has been posted. For reference, the 2025 Encendido Navideño was held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Plaza Pública, with a parade, music and a Christmas market. If the town keeps a similar schedule, the 2026 announcement should appear on the municipal calendar sometime in November.
